Farm Closure

As of now, Wellgate Community Farm is temporarily closed.

This decision to temporarily close has been taken by our staff and trustees as the next step of contingency plans for the Coronavirus outbreak to protect our staff, volunteers, students, and visitors. This is in line with government advice to education establishments.

Excepting Hands-On, all education activities and volunteering programmes are suspended, and all scheduled events are cancelled. If you have booked to attend an event, we will be contacting you to organise a refund.

Our thanks go to our dedicated and talented staff, volunteers, and supporters for the tireless work they have done to make Wellgate Community Farm a place we can all be proud of; their dedication both to the animals, plants, and the community we share cannot be understated.

We are acutely aware of and deeply regret the impact this temporary closure will have on our staff and their families; it is necessary that we scale down to the bare minimum for our long-term survival.  Wellgate has existed for nearly 40 years and we hope these temporary measures will enable us to continue to be here for many more.

Wellgate staff and essential pre-planned volunteers will be working remotely or on the farm with additional precautions in place.  If you need to reach us, please contact us via email at info@wellgatefarm.org.

We will continue to keep you updated via our social media platforms and website at https://wellgatefarm.org with animal updates during this period to help you stay in contact with us, and will reopen as soon as it is safe to do so.

The time ahead is going to be tough for many.  Please, stay safe, stay well, and look out for one another.

The staff and trustees of Wellgate Community Farm.
