Wellgate Community Farm supports and offers a wide range of activities appealing to different parts of the community irrespective of age, ability, or background.

Supported Volunteers

We have a number of volunteers with disabilities, some of whom require additional support. We offer an open and inclusive environment and tailor opportunities for those volunteers to do regular tasks around the farm either with their own carers or the support of our staff.

Young Farmers

One of the longest running projects on the farm, Young Farmers, takes on children from 8 years old and immerses them in farm life. Marks Gate Allotments

Wellgate Community Farm helped to establish and coordinate the Bagley Springs allotment site. When fully complete this will comprise of 9 half-plots allotments plus raised beds and a nature area in conjunction with the nearby school.

Our spinners and knitting group demonstrate the ancient art of wool spinning using fleeces from our own sheep and produce an array of knitted goods.

Beaks & Squeaks

Introduced in 2019, Beaks & Squeaks was created for the young animal lover who is too young to join our Farmer For A Day events.
