Hands-On

Hands On is an integrated complementary learning programme of farm, environment, and land-based activities designed to build young people’s confidence and self-esteem, address challenging behaviour, develop skills, and raise aspirations.

Run in conjunction with Lambourne End Outdoor Centre, Hands-On is aimed at young people who learn by ‘doing’. It is suited to young people who have difficulty with mainstream education through poor school attendance, under-achievement, low confidence or self-esteem. It is also intended for young people interested in future careers in farming and land-based industries.

Achievements are recognised through national vocational qualifications:-

The project is designed to be attended on a regular term-time basis for up to 3 days a week, in conjunction with school, tutoring, or alternative provision.
