Beaks & Squeaks

Introduced in 2019, Beaks & Squeaks was created for the young animal lover.

Aimed at children aged 3 – 7, Beaks & Squeaks is a two-hour session themed around our “Beaks” (our chickens and ducks), and “Squeaks” (rabbits and guinea-pigs).

Each session features:-

Preparing for your visit

Children must be accompanied at all times by an adult.

Both you and your child should wear sturdy waterproof footwear if possible. While we are accessible, farms are bumpy and muddy in places.

Car parking is limited, if the car park is full then we recommend parking on Collier Row Road at the top of the lane. If you can car-share or take public transport we would appreciate it.

If you or your child have a disability or special needs then please contact the farm in advance to discuss how we can help you to get the most from your visit.

Getting the most out of your visit

Please arrive in good time before the start of your session.

A little practice with younger children really helps, reminding children that when petting animals you need gentle hands, gentle movements, gentle voices, follow their fur or feathers, and not to put your hands in their faces. If you don’t have a pet at home then a soft toy is just as good.

Ask your child about what noises they think the animals make, and how they act.

When the session is finished, feel free to pay a visit to our 3-star mud-kitchen for them to let their inner Ainsley or Delia free, and please take a moment to give us feedback – this feedback is hugely important to us, and to the organisations which support keeping our farm open to the public, 364 days a year, for free, through their grants and funding.
